Special Machu Picchu visit
We'll go to Machu Picchu early in the morning to capture the sunrise over the legendary city and walk around it's sacred locations.

This is one of the best opportunities to visit Machu Picchu if you want to capture stunning pictures of the Inca city, and combine it with two spectacular events: Inti Raymi and Corpus Christi.

(Sunrise entrance ticket availability is limited, so don't be slow!)

Lake Titicaca extra program
If you want to see more, join us for 2 extra days on the trip to the highest navigable lake in the world to meet with fantastic Uros and Taquile cultures.

Uros people live on the floating islands that they made of totora reef. Taquile is famous for its men weaving traditions that are included in UNESCO Intangible cultural heritage list.

We'll spend the whole day on Titicaca, visiting different islands and meeting local people.

Day 1, June 18
Arrival into Cusco
Travel program: arrival into Cusco, accommodation in the hotel, acclimatization to the altitude. We'll meet you in the airport, just tell us the flight details.
Conference program: Evening introduction talk about Peru, Cusco, Incas, Quechua, local way of life, history, festivals and other important things that every photographer should know. How to deal with locals in Peru, what is allowed to do on the festivals, and how to approach private individuals if you want to take a picture
Day 2, June 19
Photography warm-up
Travel program:

Morning: early morning walk around the historical center of Cusco. We will explore the surroundings, check for different filming points, visit the local market to warm up the photography skills and get ready for the upcoming festivals.

After lunch: scouting walk around Cusco. During this walk we will look for incredible photography locations. It also will help you to navigate freely during photography walks in upcoming days. Sharing results in the evening (or you can keep them secret if you want)

Evening: sunset and blue hour photoshoot on Plaza de Armas (cityscapes)
Conference program:

Talk 1. Understanding your camera: the basics of photography everyone must know.

Talk 2. What is Corpus Christi: costumes, traditions, history, event plan

Talk 3. Scouting basics: how to plan your photography walks in the city you've never been to?
Day 3, June 20
Corpus Christi celebration
Travel program:

We will spend the whole day on the festival, participating in the dancing parade and meeting local people.

Early in the morning people start bringing highly decorated statues of saints to the Cusco cathedral (just 100 meters from our hotel). The main parade starts at 11am and lasts till late afternoon, so you'll have plenty of time to master portrait and street photography.

Talk 1. Cataloging and postprocessing workshop: how to keep your pictures in order and to postprocess them in no time
Day 4, June 21
The Sacred Valley of the Incas
Travel program:

Today we divide into few small groups, board the minibuses and go travel around the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We'll visit enormous agriculture laboratory of Moray, see traditional salt mines in Salinares de Maras, walk through cozy farmer towns and visit local weaving communes, where people preserve traditional way of textile production.

If you book Machu Picchu visit, in the evening we board the train to Machu Picchu and stay for the night in Aguas Calientes, the gate to Machu Picchu, to go there to see the sunrise.

If you don't book Machu Picchu visit, you will return to hotel in Cusco in the evening.

Talk 3. Machu Picchu. The city, history, rules, opportunities for photographer
Day 5, June 22
Machu Picchu
We wake up early in the morning to catch the first bus to Machu Picchu and to see the sunrise over the lost city of the Incas.

After the sunrise photoshoot we go for a walk around the legendary Inca city to see it's stunning stone work and sacred places.

After noon we board the train and through the mountain gorge return to the Sacred Valley. Back to Cusco in the evening

Day 6, June 23
Rainbow mountain tour or free day in Cusco
Day of rest and free walks around the city.

Optional day trip to the Rainbow mountain to see the sunrise there.

Talk 1. Understanding Inti Raymi: history, costumes, program, locations

Talk 2. Inspiration series.
Day 7, June 24
Inti Raymi: the Feast of the Sun
Full day at the main festival of the Inca times, now reconstructed with the best Quechua actors.

On the sunrise, the procession gathers in Coricancha, the Temple of the Sun, where they address to the rising sun. After that, the ceremony starts moving towards the Plaza de Armas, following the path of Inca Pachacuti, laid down more than 600 years ago.

Soon the procession reaches Sacsayhuaman, the enormous fortress on the top of the hill, where the Great Inca gives a speech to people and the sun, and the llama is being sacrificed. Then the main festivity is closing down and we'll head back to the centre of the Cusco for afterparties and side festivities.
